Frequently Asked Questions:

How early should I show up for my appointment?

New Clients, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to fill out first time/initial Intake Forms. 5 minutes early for return clients.

How should I prep for my appointment?

Please come to your Facial appointment with clean skin/no makeup on and your hair tied back. If you are coming from work, please remove your makeup before arriving.

You will not need to do any special prep for your Facial service unless there is a booking note in the description of the Facial service you are interested in,.

What should I wear to my Facial appointment?

Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and shoes so that when you spend time laying on the facial bed during your appointment, you will feel most relaxed. Please leave jewelry at home or secured in your purse/bag.

What should I bring to my Facial appointment?

Hydration is important so make sure to bring your own water bottle. Silencing your cell phone is appreciated.

**Due to the sterile environment of the MedSpa and clients with potential allergies, please do not bring guests, children or personal pets.

What should I expect during my initial visit?

As a New Client, you'll receive an in-depth consultation when I review your Intake Forms and go over any questions or concerns you may have before beginning your service. I provide an adjustable Spa Wrap that you can change into before getting onto the Spa bed and getting cozy for your service. My Skin Analysis device helps me plan a protocol and products to use for your Facial service. When your service is complete, I offer recommendations regarding your home skin care routine and assist with booking your next visit.

Which Facial service should I book for my initial visit?

New Clients, I recommend to first book an "Essential Facial" such as The Full Custom, The Deep Cleansing or The Full Lux Facial.    An initial Essential Facial is needed before receiving services such as Peels, Dermaplaning and Microdermabrasion so that I can evaluate and prep your skin since they have contraindications. Suggested progression of Facial services: (with consideration to proper time in between each service): New Clients: Essential Facial(s) > Dermaplaning (if you have peach fuzz) > HydroFacial > Microdermabrasion  Return advancing Clients: Dermaplaning (if you have peach fuzz) > HydroFacial > Microdermabrasion > Peel > Needling

When booking Treatments . . .
(Dermaplaning, Microdermabrasion, HydroFacial, Peels, Needling and Permanent Makeup)

Please go to the page for the treatment you are interested in receiving and carefully read the Contraindications, Preparation and Post Care Instructions before booking an appointment.  Some typical contraindications include having certain medical conditions such as diabetes or cancer and being on certain prescription drugs such as blood thinners, cancer treatments, and cosmetic treatments such as Botox, fillers, recent surgeries, etc. Treatments will require you to not receive any Sun exposure before and/or after your service.  It is best to plan going on a trip (especially to tropical/sunny destinations) prior to receiving treatments and certain peels so that your skin has time to return to normal before receiving a treatment.

What are contraindications?

Contraindications would be something that may prevent you from being able to have a specific type of Facial service performed on the day of your appointment including things such as sunburn on your face, recent waxing or shaving, sores on your face, tenderness or extreme sensitivity, current medications or medical conditions, recent services that might conflict with the timing or type of service, etc. I will always consult with you before starting your Facial service to go over everything.  Feel free to contact me ahead of time if you have any questions or concerns.

What if my skin starts peeling, looks patchy or seems irritated after my Facial?

This is common for many people, and depending on the type of Facial you receive, products, tools and machines used.  Not all "Peels" will actually make your skin peel. You can expect for the skin to rejuvenate after certain types of Facial services, some more than others.  I will advise you on what to expect at the time of your service.  For best results, proper preparation before a Peel plus the recommended after care of your skin is very important.

How often can I receive a Facial service?

For a Facial service such as the Clean and Go that you could receive once a week as long as your skin is doing well, while other types of Facial services using certain products, tools and devices might require your skin to have a certain amount of down time before another Facial service can be performed. This could range from a few days to a few weeks. I will make sure to monitor your skin and schedule your next Facial service accordingly.

Do you treat skin conditions?

If you have moderate severe active or cystic Acne conditions or fungal Acne (folliculitis), deep scarring, eczema or other skin conditions, please seek the guidance of your Dermatologist for treatment.

FYI ~ Health Matters . . .

Please reschedule your appointment if you are feeling ill, are coughing/sneezing, have a raised temperature, or have any conditions that may prevent you from being able to receive a Facial such as cold sores, etc.
